Stress is your bodies way of responding to any kind of demand.
It can be caused by both good and bad experiences.
When people feel stressed by something going on around them, their bodies react by releasing chemicals into the blood. These chemicals give people more energy and strength, which can be a good thing if their stress is caused by physical danger.
But this can also be a bad thing, if their stress is in response to something emotional and there is no outlet for this extra energy and strength. If people do not learn how to handle stress, these reactions in their bodies can be very detrimental to their physical and mental health. Many different things can cause stress — from physical (such as fear of something dangerous) to emotional (such as worry over your family or job.)
When a person is living with a lot of stress, their life style living habits change. They often don’t eat well, or find time to exercise, or sleep sufficient hours. They also often self-medicate to help with the poor nurturing. These bad life habits result in lowering the body’s immune system, making it weak and unable to fight illness and disease.
Stress can cause people to have sleepless nights. They will become tired and can get symptoms of depression, anxiety and mood swings.
It is important to find ways to assist in releasing the stress, rather than allowing it to be stored up.
Here are a few suggestions that you could try:
Exercise of any form even just going for a walk.
Meditation.
Deep breathing.
Journaling your feelings to get them out.
Healthy diet.
Daily Time management.
Daily gratitude.
Forgiveness of self and others.
Celebration- remember to celebrate every hurdle you overcome, no matter how small.
