Practical Self-Care Strategies

So… we know what Self-Care is and why it is important – But now how can we strategize to put this into action?

As the saying goes, if we don’t take action to change something, “we are always going to get what we always got”.

Making changes to include your Self-care can be hard, but here are a few points that will help you. My advice is to pick one or two that resonate with you to start with, and try to include it in your daily routine.

· Establish Routines: Create daily habits that prioritize-care, such as dedicating time for exercise, meditation, or engaging in a hobby.

· Set Healthy Boundaries: Learn to say no when necessary, and allocate time for rest and without feeling guilty about it.

· Practice Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness techniques like deep breathing, journaling, or spending time in nature to bring awareness to the present moment and reduce stress.

· Prioritize Sleep: Ensure you get enough quality sleep, aiming for the recommended seven to hours per night, as it is crucial for overall well-being.

· Engage in Activities Enjoy: Carve out time for hobbies, creative outlets, or spending time with loved ones to rejuvenate and boost happiness.

· Seek Support: Reach out to friends, family, or when needed. Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

· Disconnect from: Dedicate regular periods to disconnect from devices and engage in activities that foster relaxation and presence.

Remember, prioritizing your self-care is not selfish; it is an act of self-love that positively impacts every aspect of your life.
