Have you experienced a traumatic incident or event in your life that you have coped and moved on with, but failed to totally talk about it and clear all the triggers and painful memories?
Are you experiencing ongoing stress or fear in your current living circumstances? This may result in you feeling helpless, overwhelmed, and unable to reach out to anyone for assistance.
Have you recently suffered the sudden death of someone close, the breakup of a significant relationship, or a deeply humiliating or disappointing experience?
The above traumas or incidents may be big or small, but never the less, they can be causing you continued stress and be preventing you from moving forward towards a confident and successful life.
I had a home invasion in 2007 where my Husband was shot, and I was held at gunpoint and beaten. I was at their mercy while they ransacked our home, and my Husband lay bleeding on the floor. It took me 10 months before I was able to reach out to anyone about this as I was just too afraid to retell or talk about this incident. I had to retell the story once to the special Detective who was assigned to the case a week later, and this traumatised me so much, that I was trembling and shaking. There was absolutely no way that I was going to see a Psychologist, and re tell this story again. As a result, I just kept myself really busy, could not sleep and ended up weighing 39kgs, which meant I was on a downward spiral mentally and physically.
I found a Professional who specialised in dealing with trauma in a different way. His first step was to just help me to calm myself and to sleep at night. This was done without drugs, using meditation and visualisation.
It was after this, that I started my studies of healing and counselling using different methods, which are kind and do not further traumatise you into telling your story.
I would love to support you or anyone close to you who is in need of any help and support.
