“While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, the other is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.” ~ Henry C. Link

Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. Rather do something and be one tiny step ahead, than do nothing at all.

A few years back I was trying to build my own website and was just frozen in getting started, as I was scared I would mess it up and it would not look perfect. Guess what….. it never looked like anything, good or bad, as it never got started.

A good friend of mine said I must always repeat this word in my mind when I am feeling stuck…TARL. It stands for – TAKE ACTION AND REVISE LATER. Makes sense doesn’t it?

If we never take action, nothing will change, or nothing gets put out there. This really helped “The Perfectionism” part of me to calm down, and realize that it is okay to not have to have it 100% perfect immediately. I can put something out and I can keep revising it again and again to make it better.

Just like the quote above states, in taking action, we make mistakes and in doing so, learn through this and grow.

We do need to be mindful however, that when we make mistakes, we do not beat ourselves up about them.

What if, instead of REGRET, we REFLECT on our mistakes?

What did we learn or how could we have done it different?

Don’t be afraid, be brave and remember to be kind to yourself.
