CHOOSING A NEW PATH OR DIRECTION CAN BE SCARY

My entire career had been involved in sales and marketing, but after all that I had been through and experienced, this was no longer fulfilling to me. Change in anything is hard, very scary and all the what if’s start to play with your mind. I started some part time studies and took some courses to begin a new path in helping people to heal.

My new path was a journey and just like a GPS navigation in a car, it had different stops along the way and diversions. In my mind I set the goal and time frame, but in reality this never played out exactly as I had planned it. Setting small achievable goals helped me, and then to celebrate them when I achieved them. This was by treating myself to small enjoyable things, such as having a few hours off to walk in the park, or going to my favorite place for coffee. The main thing is, that I KEPT GOING.

Just as choosing a new path is scary, so is choosing a new habit or releasing something that you have been holding onto that is not serving you. This could be a painful memory or something from your childhood. What would we be or who would we be without this thing or memory? It may have defined us?

The big question, is how different will I feel if I could be free of this thing or memory. This of course requires change which requires work and and change to our daily thoughts and habits. The saying “FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY” sounds good, but is not always easy. If we can see the need to change is positive, and we have the steps, plus some support, then it is possible. We want to reach our new goal, but we don’t want to be traumatised along the way. This is a new journey and it would be great to enjoy and celebrate the journey.

THE MAIN MESSAGE HERE IS ALWAYS BE KIND TO YOURSELF AND BE YOUR BEST CHEERLEADER ALONG THE WAY.
